CoMundus blogs

CoMundus is a consortium of European universities on which you can pursue an MA program entitled Media, Communication and Cultural Studies. If you are “third country” national (yeah sounds a lot like “third world” country, in short non-EU, non-EU candidate) and lucky, you can get an Erazmus Mundus scholarship, which would make your life a wholla lot easier.
One might think that such a consortium ought to have a website, filled with information, after all – media and communication being the operative. Alas, no. So far, students have not dedicated their effort in building a lasting website, aimed at sharing of the experience (seven universities being involved, some students on the same program never meet face to face) and disseminating information. There is a Facebook group, which does not promise much, since there is a FCB group for pretty much anything, most of them being inactive.
Let me turn your attention to the blogs of my classmates. Not about CoMundus per se, but some information can be extracted and I am sure that they would be willing to help. Just to show where are our minds at.
//erasmusa//
Most active blog on my blogroll, Erasmusa documented year and a half in London and Roskilde, Denmark and today she blogs about her travels and interests in her native Philippines. What’s more she wrote a very interesting thesis on Blogs and Pinoy identity. I wish I could only be this diligent.
My dear Caipiroska blogs in English and Spanish, about issues diverse as US presidential election, political situation in Italy and media in her native Mexico. She promises “un poco de todo …. arte, musica, cine, actualidad, cultura popular, sexo, interculturalidad”, I am still waiting for her to deliver the sex part.
Never mix vodka and fruit – it is addictive.
//living life//

An Indian living life in Denmark, Italy and now the Big Apple. She brings a juicy slice of life from all of these places, with a fresh perspective.
Being the most business-orientated of all of us, Enio is actually looking to make a profit out of this “gastronomy meets popular culture/worldwide” endeavor. I am glad to help.
Surfing the net in search of blogs by CoMundus students, I stumbled on the one, by a student living in France now. Someone I do not know personally, but will continue to read in the future.
If you are on CoMundus and want your link to be included, contact me please.

thanks for the link!
despite the name of the programme, comundus is not very good in practicing either media, communication or culture, much less all three. i suppose it’s up to us to do that on behalf of the consortium.

Oh, c’mon you are truly inspirational.
On CoMundus - you are quite right. Do not want to slide into disparaging territory, as I like the program, but somehow I think the whole thing resembles the concept of the EU - everyone gets to keep his own thing (thinking that it is the only possible and the best way to do things) under the umbrella of togetherness and cooperation.
Little bit more coordination would be helpful, not to mention a web site that could really serve as a useful platform. Yet, I guess it can not be expected.

Hi, yes, thks for the link.., and hey, it’s almost impossible to follow your blog, too many posts!:))
well, only to remark, I’m not looking for profit with popkitchen.com.br, it would be far from ethic to ask people to write on it while I would be making money from it (which btw is impossible), and plus: with your brand! The blog is collective, personal and independent. I’m looking for profit with http://www.suamesa.com.br and the guides, which is other issue.., partners, contracts, employees, media responsibilities and so..
u step ahead:)
